Don't worry, I still don't have delusions of grandeur that this is forever, and that never again will I have to feed or rock him during the night. I'm just saying, that over the past two weeks, he has started to get the hang of how to fall back asleep when he wakes.
It's marvelous.
Yes, I still wake and hear him. Depending on the cry I go to him and soothe or feed him.
More often than not, he is figuring out that it's ok, he's still in his crib, sleep ain't so bad, and he should shut his eyes again and let it overtake him.
Phew.
What that also means is that he doesn't need to be velcro-sealed into his sleep sack for fear of his startle reflex successfully startling him. And he can use those free hands to do just about whatever he wants.
Right now, that is throwing them up above his head to rest all laaaaid back. Champion of sleep. King of the crib. Master of the mattress. Prince of the Pack-n-Play.
I'd go on, but he's sleeping right now and there's stuff to get done!
