This past weekend was a whirlwind. First, it should be noted that PDG must've read my blog and decided to laugh in my face about the whole 5-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep he'd been giving semi-frequently. He took it down a few notches to, oh, 1.5-2 hour stretches. I was a self-doubting zombie of a mama.
Big Sis arrived to the DC airport midday Saturday where J-Man and I picked her up and drove her back to the H's. Along the way PDG screamed, Big Sis stopped feeling so well, and J-Man sped like crazy in hopes something, anything, would move this all along.
That night Big Bro also arrived along with the littlest of the adorable nephews. There was a 1am party in the living room (PDG and I were clearly up) when they arrived back from the airport and settled in.
On Sunday though, despite the heat, and church being that awkward 11-2 slot this year, we managed to snap a billion photos. The best ones are up more privately on facebook since most have the nephews in them, but it was a blast to document the family almost all together. If you don't go on facebook much, but we're friends, you should take a peek.
That night we had Mama H's celebratory lamb meal, as we do for any special occasion, and stuffed ourselves silly before a week of high temperatures and Virginia exploration. PDG and I are sitting out the Jamestown/Williamsburg portion, but will be jumping back in for one last weekend of Summer with Grandma and Granddad H.
finally saw some monuments at night - cooler than I thought it'd be |
