Despite having lots of time at home these past two weeks, I've neglected to write what we've been up to, so I'll try to get a few posts in this week so we can start 2015 all caught up.
First off - Christmas Cards.
If you got one from us, you probably noticed that we were a little less weird this year. Some might argue that I won the annual compromise of just how non-traditional to be. After all, there was no two-chained, tatted up gangsta with a grill, nor super-ripped, bare chested Santa in the final version. Maybe next year J-Man will get the edge and slip these in.
We originally wanted both kids upside down. After all, as part of his bedtime routine, along with "water medicine" (water in an advil cup) and a book and prayer and teeth brushing PDG does insist on being carried upside down to his bed. Outside as we tried to have Papa H snap the photos, you'd think we were abusing both PDG and his little brother when we attempted the maneuver. And rather than have our neighbors wonder about our parenting skills, we improvised a bit.
And when I finally won out on the "no strangers on our card!" argument, a PDG selfie seemed like the only reasonable replacement. After all, we have more than enough pictures of his forehead on our phones to make invidualized selfie cards for each of our friends.
So, Merry (belated) Christmas to all!
Eleven more months til it's time to come up with something goofy for next year.
