BBQ Celebrations

One of my favorite things to do at work is to celebrate people.  Maybe it comes from my teaching days when I would jump up and down when a student could finally recite "Hablo, hablas, habla..."  I just love it when people do things well!

So one of the best things about this job is that twice a year I get to take out my very best folks to a semi-expensive dinner and then brag about them.

Yesterday, I discovered Hill Country BBQ

Take that in

Hill.
Country.
BBQ.

I don't know if my arteries will recover.  At one point I leaned over to an instructor working his way through the Pitmaster (meat galore) and told him I felt like I was sinning eating my brisket because it tasted too good to be meat.

Sorry to my semi-vegan non-meat-lovers.  I'll post about oreos sometime again I swear.  But I'm still in awe of the bounty of deliciousness.

We had a grand ol' time together.  We ate and laughed and played musical chairs at my enforcement (I do still love the occasional power trip) and they got to come out of the isolating world of tutoring.  I embarrassed them royally with stories of great things their students had said, or things I observed, and gave them each silly award names.

It was the best day of work this year, even topping when my own director created MOI day.  I felt all  happy and tingly inside as I drank my lemonade from my mason jar.

However, I think I don't need to eat meat for a little while.  Pretty sure it's time for some non-bacon-drenched veggies and some virgin pina coladas.
