When riding a bike in Old Town Alexandria and wondering if you should do any of these things, the answer is wholeheartedly - YES!
1) Wear a helmet. - otherwise I might be tempted to give you a love tap and teach you a lesson
2) Signal - I learned those hand signs back in driver's ed so you probably did too. Use 'em
3) Wear a belt - Please, for the love of all things holy, do not show me your crack as I'm driving to work. Bad way to start a Thursday.
And if you are that stellar man who neglected all three of these this morning...
4) Pray - you probably need someone on your side. Especially if you encounter me again :)
Sincerely,
Nicole the G
The whole "share the road" phrase really irks me. I'm in the big car and they are on the bike. So yes, I'll share but only in the same way that a child reluctantly shares his fav toy with a sibling and then yanks it away when someone isn't looking. Sorry, Porter, if you are reading this as I would never run you off the road :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I just read that thinking...what the heck? You've gotta share the road! Just because it doesn't have a motor doesn't mean it's not a vehicle...and so on and so on...and then I came to the last sentence. :) That really made me laugh! So funny.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I'm always very polite with cyclists and share the road quite well. It's the view I was less pleased with :)
ReplyDeleteI know. I'm not a fan of the butt crack either. Or people who have no idea what they're doing. :) My first comment was directed at your sis's comment, the last sentence cracked me up. Hope to see you soon! Maybe I need to come for a Sunday visit in a week or two. :)
