Valentines Attempt #1

So two years ago, before either KB or I were pregnant, and we were young and married and living that unstructured life, our husbands did some Valentines day collaboration.  The two of them planned a fabulous trip to Annapolis that I chronicled here.  It was super sweet and fun (and cold) and a great, great idea.

This year I could tell that the two of them were talking again too.  Only, somehow, and it's hard to say exactly what the train of thought was, the plan ended with a Wizards game.

It was a lot of fun.  The two of us couples, plus two more in our section and other friends elsewhere in the arena, all got together for snacks beforehand, the game, and hanging out afterwards.  Unfortunately, our babysitter (whose comments I mentioned previously) needed us home kinda early and our work schedules got us there a little late, but we still made the most of it.

So, it's important to note I'm not complaining about a night with my husband and good friends.  I promise.

I'm just saying, that when trying to treat your wife to a Valentine's day date, a sports game isn't quiiiiiiite at the top of the list.

So, we considered it part one, as it more favored J-Man, and figured the next weekend could be Attempt #2. A perfectly reasonable way to make the month more fabulous.

Like I said, no complaints.  A date is always great.

And hey, thank heavens it wasn't a (well-researched) vacuum cleaner like my coworker got for the 'holiday.'
