Happy Early Saturday

Growing up, I remember that Saturday mornings were Mama H's time to herself.

To be honest, other than grocery shopping by 7am, I have no idea what she did with that time.  I was usually sound asleep.  Back then, when sleeping in meant something like 11am or some ridiculous lunch hour.

These days, I completely get it.  Between pregnancy and working a job that requires 5am wake-up, my schedule is hardly compatible with J-Man anymore.  Last night, a Friday mind you, I was excited to make it until around 8:30 before every synapse in my body gave up and I zonked out here on the couch.

Yep, right here on the very same couch where I'm wide awake enjoying some juice and grapes and hoping to catch up on as many updates as I can.

There is something magical about an early Saturday morning, though.  Mama H might have been on to it a good 30-40 years ago.  The world is quiet.  The weekend spreads before you.  No one needs hugs or food or attention - which I will gladly give in just an hour or two.

Right now, it's mama G, the mexiblanket, nbc4, and a little MDG punching hard to remind me this beautiful schedule and concept of any alone time will be put on hold very soon.  Until then, happy Saturday morning everyone.
